Description:

A recent report from Surgeon General Vivek Murthy found that one in two adult Americans suffer from loneliness and feelings of social isolation. This epidemic of isolation underscores an urgent need for Americans to meet new people, connect, and build community together. At the same time, a Fidelity Charitable study found that 79% of donors choose to volunteer for charitable organizations to provide more than just financial support. What we know is that people are seeking community and your organization’s volunteer experience can play a critical role in providing that.

You will learn:

  • General frameworks for community-building
  • Scalable approaches like peer-learning cohorts and mentorship programmes
  • An understanding of what community platforms are and ones you might want to consider
  • How to leverage the collective giving model to deepen connection for your volunteers through community-building and amplify impact for your organization
