This session will take attendees on a reflective journey of their volunteer motivations. Strategies will then be shared on how to use those motivations and lived experiences as a tool for volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention.

Attendees will learn:

•Common themes surrounding research-based volunteer motivation

• A variety of ways to collect motivational information from volunteers (which questions to ask)

• How to match volunteers' motivations to aligned service projects

• How to strategically translate volunteer motivation into an organization’s volunteer program
